Model, Actor, TV and IPL 2013 host, Rochelle Rao, is the winner of the Femina Miss India International 2012 title.

Rochelle Rao’s sister, Paloma Rao, is a famous Chennai based Radio Jockey, TV presenter, VJ and writer. Rochelle Rao’s late brother, Staff Sergeant Noel Rohn Rao, received 11 gallantry medals from the United States Army. He died on a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Rochelle Maria Rao’s immediate family consists of

1. (Late) Noel Rohn Rao (twin brother; he was a decorated US Soldier who died in 2006)

1] Rochelle Rao’s (Late) Brother Noel Rohn Rao

Noel Rohn Rao was a Squad Leader in the United States Maintenance Platoon, Delta Company, 3d Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment. During his 5 years of service, Noel received 11 medals from the US Armed forces. Noel Rao was the first foreign person to become an United States citizen under a new military rule. Noel did multiple tours of duty in Afghanistan where he was recognized as soldier of the month, soldier of the quarter and soldier of the year by the US Army. Noel died in Afghanistan on Mar 27, 2006 and he is survived by his wife Laura, son Brandon and daughter Mia.

 

 

Noel Rao graduated from Loyola College, Chennai in 2000 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He was a model and was crowned Mr Madras.He joined active duty with the US armed forces in August, 2001. He went to the US and joined the US armed forces because he wanted to fly and was unable to do this in India.

Staff Stg. Noel Rohn Rao is buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, U.S.A.

Rochelle Rao’s 38 year old brother, David, is Noel’s twin. For many years he lived abroad, but now lives with his family in Tamil Nadu. He is married to Karina and has a young daughter (Nicole). David Rao works for Accenture.

Paloma Rao is a well known Chennai based Radio Jockey (104.8 FM, Chennai Live), TV Video jockey, Actor, Writer, TV Host and Model. Before Rochelle got into modeling and won the Miss India contest, Paloma Rao was better know in the press than her sister.

 

4] Rochelle Rao’s Father – Dr Nicolas V Rao

Dr N V Rao is an advocate of natural healing and a medical consultant on herbal extracts. He is also a keen photographer who has taught photography at Chennai University.

Dr Nicholas V Rao’s mother is from Germany and his father is from Andhra Pradesh.
