Shahrukh Khan is full of happiness after KKR won the 2012 IPL final against CSK
The happiness on Shahrukh Khan's face after KKR won IPL 2012

Shahrukh Khan’s KKR win IPL 2012 Final In Amazing Style

Shahrukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the IPL 2012 final defeating the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a closely contested final. No one seemed happier with this result than Shahrukh Khan who could be seen jumping, shaking his fist, hugging, cart wheeling, laughing, joking, teasing his daughter and apologizing all over the ground.

Batting first, CSK put up what looked like a match winning 190 runs for three wickets. After having lost captain Gautum Gamhir for only 3 runs, most viewers would have thought that CSK had it in the bag. But Cometh the hour and Cometh the men – MANVINDER BISLA and JACQUES KALLIS. Their partnership of 136 runs in only 82 balls made it look so easy. Surprisingly Manvinder Bisla played the role of the senior partner scoring 89 runs from 48 balls at a strike rate of 185.

One could see the hot and humid Chennai conditions draining the fluids and strength from both Bisla and Kallis. The over before Kallis got out he was struggling to run and had to be treated for cramps. The match took another twist towards the end, when it looked like CSK had the upper hand. KKR needed 16 runs from the last 7 balls. That’s when Lady Luck smiled on KKR. In his last ball of the 19th over, Ben Hilfenhaus (the best bowler for CSK) bowled a full toss which was declared a no ball because it was over the waist. The next ball was dispatched for a 4 by Shakib Al Hassan. Thus, Hilfenhaus’ last ball gave away 7 runs. In the last over of the 2012 IPL, KKR needed 9 runs to win. Manoj Tiwary hit two fours and finished the match. Final score – KKR 192/5 in 19.4 overs.

There was no doubt – the Man of the Match was MANVINDER BISLA. Haryana born wicketkeeper and batsman Bisla plays for Himachal Pradesh. The final was only his 7th match in the 2012 IPL. This calm and composed batsman played a hero’s knock.

After the match, there was more entertainment to follow, which was provided by Shahrukh Khan. SRK behaved like SRK. The joy, fun, warmth and charm that Sharukh showed to all makes it evident why he is the King of Bollywood. Keeping him company was his team of cheerleaders that included his relatives and daughter, Suhana. See the pictures to get a sense of the infectious joy that he felt and transmitted to everyone around him. KKR had underperformed in the last 4 seasons, but SRK had been patient with his team. In the 2012 IPL, KKR were consistently good throughout the tournament and deserved to win.

The positives for KKR have been the  performances of Jacques Kallis, Sunil Narine, Bisla, Laxmipatty Balaji, etc. Gautum Gambhir’s captaincy and form have been a revelation. Looks like Gautum Gambhir’s marriage to Natasha Jain has worked wonders for him.

It was wonderful to see Shahrukh Khan apologizing for his behavior at the Wankhede stadium during the May 16, 2012 match against the Mumbai Indians.

The party moves on to Shahrukh Khan’s house in Mumbai – Mannat.

Mumbai Indian’s Performance in 2012 IPL

This article is about the IPL 2012 Mumbai Indians team, their best bowlers, batsmen, scores, schedule, ranking and pictures. Details of all Mumbai Indian IPL 2012  matches is mentioned below.

Mumbai Indians Lose to Chennai Super Kings – Out of IPL 2012

Mumbai Indians were  comprehensively beaten by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2012 Eliminator (Semi Finals) on May 23, 2012. Despite a disastrous start (losing 2 wickets for 1 run), CSK were able to put up a mammoth 187 for 5 wickets. Key contributions came from Michael Hussey (49 in 39 balls), Subramaniam Badrinath (47 in 39 balls), Dwayne Bravo (33 n.o. in 14 balls) and Man of the Match Mahendra Singh Dhoni (51 n.o. in 20 balls). Dwayne Bravo and MS Dhoni put up an incredible 73 runs in just 29 balls. Although Mumbai Indians started well with 47 runs in 5 overs, they lost their way and ended up with 149 for 9 wickets in 20 overs.

With this loss, Mumbai Indians finish their IPL 2012 campaign at 4th position.  Mumbai Indians have not qualified for the Champions League T20 competition.

Chennai Super Kings will face Delhi Daredevils (DD) to decide which of these teams will meet Kolkatta Knight Riders in the final.

Shahrukh Khan Banned from Wankhede Stadium for 5 Years

Shahrukh Khan reportedly got into an argument with Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials during the MI Vs KKR match on May 16, 2012. Post this incidence, MCA decided to ban Shahrukh Khan from entering Wankhede Stadium for the next 5 years.

According to Sharukh Khan, he was provoked by a racial slur. There is no place for racism in sports. If a MCA official did indeed utter a provocative racial statement, then strong action should be taken against that official. If the racial insult is found to be true, then this website suggests that Wankhede Stadium should be banned as a cricket venue for some time, so that a strong message is sent to all that racism will not be tolerated in cricket.

Take the example of the football English Premier League (EPL) in England. English football used to be beset with hooliganism and racism. The EPL authorities took a strong zero tolerance policy against racism. Even the English captain, John Terry, was not spared. The BCCI too should follow a similar zero tolerance policy.

MI tried 7 bowlers. Sachin Tendulkar and Dwayne Smith made the target seems easy with an unbeaten partnership of 163/0 in just 18.1 overs. This is the highest partnership in IPL 2012 and only the 5th 10 wicket victory in IPL history. Surprisingly Tendulkar played the role of the junior partner (58 n.o. in 51 balls) to MOM Dwayne Smith (87 n.o. in 58 balls).Could this be Rahul Dravid’s last appearance in IPL?
